Strong Bones Description

Strong Bones helps you build and maintain stronger bones. Strong Bones contains the right forms of calcium for immediate absorption. As well, Strong Bones contains a variety of nutrients used by your body as raw materials for reinforcing and building bones. New Roots Herbal Strong Bones, healthy natural nutrients for proper healthy bones.

  • Osteoporosis is a silent painless disease in which bones become fragile and more likely to break. If not prevented or if left untreated, osteoporosis can progress painlessly until a bone breaks.

Women are four times more likely than men to develop the disease and often have a hard time getting all of the calcium they need to maintain strong bones. Three out of four get less than the recommended intake of 1200 mgs daily with the greater population getting less than half. At this rate, it's not uncommon for women to develop osteoporosis and to suffer fractures easily. And it's not only the lack of calcium in the diet that may be causing the disease, but lifestyle choices as well. Smoking and too much alcohol both weaken our bones, while the lack of weight-bearing exercise hinders the capability to build and maintain bone strength. Primary osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease characterized by low bone mass and microarchitectural deterioration of bone tissue, leading to enhanced bone fragility and increased fracture risk. It is also characterized by an abnormal mineral/collagen ratio.

Primary osteoporosis represents bone mass loss unassociated with any other chronic illness. It is related to aging; loss of the gonadal function in females and the aging process in males.

Osteoporosis in men has recently been recognized as an important health problem, as almost 30% of all hip fractures and up to 20% of symptomatic vertebral fractures occur in men. Osteoporosis is insidious because you can't see or feel what's happening. Most people who have the disease don't know it, until a bone breaks. Though the obvious problems usually occur later in life, we now know that the invisible damage begins earlier - much earlier than most of us realize. A woman's estrogen levels can drop when she over-exercises or under-eats. One sign of low estrogen is missed periods and this can affect your bone density. Most young women have normal cycles and enjoy the natural protection of estrogen, which plays a vital role in bone health. But as our estrogen production slows, bone loss begins. Starting around age 35 we lose up to one percent of our bone mass each year. These losses accelerate rapidly after menopause.

Strong bones, or protection from osteoporosis, are not dependent upon calcium alone. While elemental calcium is essential, other minerals and nutrients, including protein and vitamins C, D3, B1 and K1 are needed to maintain and correct calcium levels and promote superior bone health.

Ingredients in this formula:

  • Microcrystalline Hydroxyapatite (Freeze Dried MCHA) 3,720 mg

Microcrystalline Hydroxyapatite (Bovine) is the most readily absorbable kind of calcium, being identical to the form of calcium found in human bones. It is also a source of rich minerals important for bone health, including magnesium and potassium.

  • Calcium (Elemental (Mcha) 930 mg

Calcium is essential for healthy bones and teeth. It will increase both bone growth and mineral density, and it will inhibit bone absorption of toxic metals such as lead.

  • Phosphorus (Mcha) 465 mg

Phosphorus is vital for bone and tooth development and cell growth. It also helps vitamin absorption and the utilization of food energy.

  • Protein (Mcha) 930 mg

Protein is imperative for growth. It furnishes the body with energy and builds enzymes, tissue and hormones. It also maintains the correct pH (acidalkali balance) of the body.

  • Magnesium (Oxide) 558 mg

Magnesium is important in aiding calcium and potassium absorption and in preventing the calcification of soft tissue.

  • Zinc (Monometionate) 9,3 mg

Zinc is vital for collagen formation and protein synthesis. It also helps with vitamin A & E absorption.

  • Manganese (Citrate) 2,79 mg

Manganese is needed for bone growth, cartilage formation and in the production of synovial (lubricating) fluid in the joints.

  • Copper (Citrate) 0,93 mg

Copper helps bone, connective tissue and collagen formation. Along with vitamin C and zinc it helps form elastin, the protein that makes up elastic tissue.

  • Boron (Citrate) 2,79 mg

In a study conducted by the U.S. government (The Department of Agriculture), Boron was found to reduce the amount of calcium lost through the urine by 40% in only eight days. This dramatic figure underscores just how critical Boron is to preventing calcium loss and increasing bone density.

  • Horsetail (Herb Extract 7% (Source Of Silica) 23,25 mg

Horsetail, because of its high silica content, hastens the repair of connective tissue, building strength and elasticity.

  • Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) 186 mg

Vitamin C is an antioxidant vital for tissue repair and growth.

  • Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) 372 I.U.

Vitamin D3 (calciferol) is the natural form of vitamin D2. It is a requisite for the absorption of calcium and phosphorus which are both essential in the maintenance of bone health.

  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamin Hci) 4,65 mg

Vitamin B1 (thiamin) strengthens circulation, blood formation, carbohydrate metabolism and digestion. It is also an important antioxidant, protecting the body from the effects of aging.

  • Vitamin K (Filoquinone) 93 mcg

Vitamin K is critical for the synthesis of osteocalcin, a noncollagenous protein in bones which calcium crystallizes.

  • L-Lysine 300 mg

Calcium deficiency contributes to age-related bone loss; consequently, any preventive approach to osteoporosis should include dietary Calcium adjustment or supplementation. The ideal Calcium supplement would yield the greatest bioavailability. Studies in animals have shown that dietary supplements with certain amino acids, particularly L-lysine, can increase Calcium absorption.

  • L-Proline 300 mg

L-Proline is the amino acid necessary for the production of collagen and cartilage for healthy joints, ligaments and tendons. Functioning as a precursor to hydroxyprolin, L-Proline also supports cartilage and connective tissue repair and wound healing. L-Proline helps maintain healthy skin by preventing the aging process of skin tissue, and supports DNA synthesis.

  • Glucosamine Sulfate (Sodium Free) 279 mg

Glucosamine Sulfate is a natural component of cartilage that stimulates the production of connective tissue.
