There are three main attributes of emu oil:

• The first is its penetration ability of human skin. The oil’s composition and molecular structure let it penetrate the skin, rather than staying on the surface level. This is because the overall composition of emu oil is remarkably similar to the composition of human skin, which also makes it an excellent skin conditioner. This deep penetration permits a deep moisturizing effect and at the same time, supplies nutrition to the deeper skin layers. The oil is non-irritating and does not clog the pores (non-comedogenic), plus it resists the growth of bacteria. Emu oil helps to improve skin health. To understand how it does this, a brief explanation of the makeup of our skin is needed. Our skin is made up of layers. The first layer, the epidermis, is joined or tethered to the second layer, the dermis, by what is called rete pegs. Rete pegs help give skin its tautness and elasticity. As we age, our skin gets thinner and the rete pegs disappear. This causes the top layer to sag and wrinkles result. Emu oil will increase skin thickness up to 30% and help these rete pegs to grow back, which means that it can slow and even reverse the aging process in skin.
• The second attribute of emu oil is it’s anti-inflammatory ability. This fine tunes the body’s healing response and reduces inflammation, which in turn allows quicker skin recovery with less scarring.
• Thirdly, emu oil produces relief from pain. This relief can be superficial as aiding in wound and burn healing, shingles, cold sores, or deeper, as in a sprained ankle or arthritis.

Recommended Use:

Bath: Add 2 - 3 mls and enjoy the silky smoothness as it moisturizes and soothes the skin. When you shower, apply after toweling. This replaces your natural skin oils, enhancing your comfort and skin well being. Or try adding a drop or two to your shampoo to moisturize dry scalp and hair and to stimulate hair growth. Adding a few drops to your shaving gel improves slip, prolongs blade life and gives a comfortable, refreshing sensation to your skin.

Skin Injuries: First clean the cut, scrape or bruise. Then apply a few drops of emu oil and cover with a bandage or compress as desired. Repeat 2 to 4 times a day.

Sunburns and Burns: Apply to the affected area as often as comfort requires. Radiation burns may need oil every 1 to 2 hours to achieve comfort. Emu oil helps to reduce scarring and speeds healing.

Shingles: Emu oil tends to take away the burning and irritation, enhance the rate of healing and, more importantly, seems to dramatically prevent the likelihood of developing the pain long term in a completely non-invasive treatment.

Acne: Emu oil does not clog pores and will aid in the healing of blemishes by helping to reduce inflammation.

Eczema: Applying  will moisturize and reduce irritation and inflammation. Emu oil will usually help to clear up even severe cases of this condition.

Ear Wax or Itchy Ear Canal: Reduces itching and greatly softens earwax. Simply put in drops several minutes prior to ear wax removal by a health professional.

Psoriasis: Emu oil has helped some people in treating this condition. When it does work, it is a safe and non-toxic alternative to other medications.
